Happy Holidays!

The holiday season has begun, and this year along with all the Christmas celebrations, shopping and dinners, my close friend is getting married in three weeks. This has made keeping up with my writing a little more difficult, as I have had little time to myself, but I am happy to be a part of her special day.

I am one of the maids of honor, and yesterday was my final dress fitting; a process that was a whole lot less painful than I expected it to be. The dresses are a beautiful colour of red, and are quite gorgeous, so I am looking forward to wearing it come December 20th. Until then, my days and weekends are quite full with rehearsal dinners and bachelorette parties.

I was, however, able to relax for a night this past weekend, when I went to visit my sister and  go see Great Big Sea play in Oshawa. They were fabulous and had the crowd eating out of their hands within minutes of appearing on stage. There was a wide range of ages there, all enjoying themselves singing and dancing along. It was a great night, and a great stress relief, especially since it is now crunch time at school.

This semester has been interesting, a little chaotic at times, but very educational. The Independent Digital Photography program at Seneca College, in which I am enrolled, is a brand new program and this was the first time they have offered the third semester courses. The program has definitely had its growing pains, however I could not have asked for a better program to introduce me to many different photographic styles, as well as teach me the business aspect of the profession. I am looking forward to the next semester when I get to focus my area of study and build a professional portfolio.

Until then, I still have a wedding, family gatherings, holiday parties and Christmas to keep me occupied!

Wishing I could escape to a warmer time!

Time to catch up

So, it's been a while since I last wrote. I thought  I'd catch you up with the happenings of the last little while.

I am over half way done my third semester now. It's been pretty busy, but a little uneventful - I haven't been able to shoot as much as I'd like, but have been learning a little about how to run a business. It'll be interesting to see how next semester goes, when I have to find myself a co-op placement.

Along with the business course, I've also been working on a portfolio, and creating an identity for my business, so to go along with this, I have created a new logo:

And have relaunched www.triebephotography.ca .

I thought I'd leave you all with a couple of interior and exterior shots I have recently taken.
Thanks to Mike and Theresa, who let me use their kitchen for this project!
